Earl Warren's Splash Club

This year our class had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful afterschool program sponsored by Sacramento Splash. Sacramento Splash is a watershed education program. The Splash program provides opportunities for Sacramento County students and their families to explore the diversity of life in our local aquatic ecosystems, including vernal pools and streams. Through their studies in the classroom and in the field, students learn the importance of water quality and how they can improve water habitats where they live.

In fifth grade, our class went on a field trip to the Vernal Pools located about twenty minutes from our school. There we learned about the vernal pools as well as the animals that depend on them. The next year, Sacramento Splash started this club which was open to sixth graders who wanted to do fun activities and learn about science at the same time. The pictures below show some of the fun things we did this year. If you want to learn more about this organization, please the Sacramento Splash website. Enjoy!
